Our work at Ponder started as research projects in the UC Berkeley RISE Lab, where we developed tools aimed at improving data science productivity.

Our open-source projects are the result of many years of research and development in this space. We recently published two research papers in the Proceedings of VLDB, short for Very Large Data Bases, 2022. The papers will be presented at the VLDB conference in Sydney, Australia in September 2022.

To learn more about the cutting-edge techniques we’ve developed, check out the papers for Modin (link) and Lux (link). Or you can read our Twitter threads on the Modin or Lux papers.

To spice up your paper-reading fun, we’ve included an easter egg that references Ponder in both papers 😀! If you can spot our hidden note, tweet us and share your findings!

If you would like the TLDR version that explains Ponder’s technology, please check out this page!
